オービットキャノンは大きく分けて設置型と追尾型の二種類に分類される。~
設置型はその名の通り、その場に設置されたオービットが範囲内の敵に自動で攻撃を行う非ロックオン兵装。~
追尾型はロックオンした敵を追尾して一定時間エネルギー弾で攻撃を行う。[[ミサイル]]と同様のロックオンシステムを採用しているため、[[連動ミサイル]]との連動発射も可能で、火力の底上げがし易く、ロックオン速度もミサイルよりも速い。

レーザータイプのオービットは[[ジェネレーター]]のEN射撃適性の影響を受けず、レーザードローンは[[チャージ]]によって攻撃パターンが変化する。
